Get It: The Power of Cultural Learning

Get It: The Power of Cultural Learning was published in 2009 and led to the formation of the Cultural Learning Alliance (www.culturallearningalliance.org.uk). The report is based on the findings of an extensive public consultation among practitioners working across the cultural and learning sectors and sets out the groundwork for a new approach to culture and learning in England.

The report contains ten key recommendations focused on improving outcomes for children and young people. It calls for joint action from the cultural and learning sectors, at national, regional and local level, and from central government and other funders, in order to ensure provision of high-quality, sustainable and equitable cultural learning opportunities to meet the needs, aspirations and talents of all learners.

This report was launched at the Royal Society of Arts on 27 April 2009, with a keynote address by Dr Maggie Atkinson, now Children's Commissioner for England.
